Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Bloomington, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Bloomington is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Bloomington is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

As an OTR truck driver, I've eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants over the years, and this one really impressed me. There are plenty of Indian restaurants that cater to truckers, but Marigold stands out for how spotlessly clean it is. The dining room has a relaxed atmosphere with ambient music, modern dΓ©cor, and an open kitchen where you can watch the food being prepared. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala with Mirchi (garlic & green chili) naan, and it was excellent. The portions were generous enough that I got two meals out of it. I also picked up an order of Sarson Ka Saag to try later because I wanted something different. If you're passing through Bloomington and want a break from the usual truck stop fast food, this place is absolutely worth the stop. Great food, clean restaurant, and a nice place to unwind after a long day behind the wheel.

I was very disappointed with my order. I got tandoori paneer tikka and for nearly $20+, they only gave six pieces of paneer. The quantity was extremely low for the price. Even considering ingredients and preparation, the pricing felt excessiveβeasily 4 times what it should reasonably cost. Worse, the paneer quality was poor. It was very hard and dry, and the color was extremely dark, clearly indicating it was over fried and overcooked. The taste was horrible and not enjoyable at all. Overall, it was not worth the money, and I regret ordering from here. I wonβt be visiting this restaurant again.

The female waitress was very kind and attentive. We had a mid communication error but she quickly fixed it. Food was good but the drinks not so much. We fed 4 people for $100 a bit expensive. Inside is nicely decorated

I brought my 6-7 year old son for his first Indian dish. I love Indian food and this place does not disappoint. We were served with a smile and tended to in a timely manner. The mango lassi on point. Butter chicken thick and creamy with rice and vegetables. Delicious garlic naan bread. I'll definitely be back !! Thank you*

I'm probably not the first person to comment how fancy this place looks for an eatery attached to a gas station. Tanu and Chef Harry have been very attentive to my needs and ensured an extraordinary dinner experience. The fish pakora with chutney and onions were not as crunchy as expected, but very flavorful. And the mango mutton pairs really well with mutter pulao (note: you have to order the rice separately). Additionally, it seems they're going to have pizza on their menu sometime in the future, as the chef gave me a free slice of pesto chicken with homemade ranch. Overall, this place is a pretty rare find.
